Home Applications Weird Errors and the Mysterious Root Cause. Cannot connect to the Citrix server. Protocol Driver Error and/or. '1030 – Protocol Driver. Protocol Driver Error' Troubleshooting Steps and Suggestions. The 1030 Protocol Driver Error could be caused by a number of different things. Protocol Error 1030 that.

For All Things Citrix. Hey guys, I need your expertise on this issue I’m having. Here’s a quick background so you know where I’m coming from. A month ago I got hired as a VI/VDI Systems Engineer/Consultant. Dealing with mostly with VMware and Citrix. I was very excited and thankful to get the position except I have no background in any virtualization aside from messing around with VMware workstation at home.

They knew that, by the way, when they offered me a job. Anyway, so I’m learning as I go. Here is the issue I’m having, as the title says I keep getting a “ status (1030)” error. I tried to research the issue but I guess that error is a pretty general error code. Here is what I have setup: I setup a lab in our office to train on and I feel I’ve made great progress. I was able to get a whole lab going that I isolated from our main network.

Driver

I’m running all this on a physical server using ESXi 5.5. I am running XenDesktop 7.6 I’m running 3 virtual servers which are the DDC, Domain Controller, and an Issuing CA. As this is just a lab environment I installed everything on the DDC; Director, License Server, Storefront, and Studio.

The Domain Controller is running DNS, DHCP, ADDS, and File and Storage Services. My lab environment is running on a 10.10.0.x IP scheme. I have been able to successfully deploy VDIs and run them with no issues within my lab environment. The DDC is set with two NICs, a static IP on the first one for my lab network and the second one is running DHCP to reach our production/main network.

It is the only machine that can connect to our main network. Our main network uses 192.168.x.x for IP addressing. As I mentioned before, everything seems to work great within my lab. I’m now trying to connect to it from our main network.

To do this I launch my browser and key in the 192.168.x.x IP address that the DDC is getting. I can connect to StoreFront and I can login just fine but when I try to launch a desktop it just hangs and gives me the error. From vCenter I can tell that it reaches the VM because it powers one on every time I try to connect, but it’s not able to connect to it. Because it runs fine inside my 10.10.0.x network I can only assume that it is a networking, which I'm not an expert in either, issue but I might have missed a step or two somewhere. Any insight or really any advice is much appreciated. I want to have this running and working so I can show my boss I can do this!

Error 1030 Mysql

Error

From vCenter I can tell that it reaches the VM because it powers one on every time I try to connect, but it’s not able to connect to it. I believe the power on request comes from the DDC when the launch is requested. This doesn't verify that the client can reach the desktop, this just means that the DDC can communicate with vCenter. The DDC is set with two NICs, a static IP on the first one for my lab network and the second one is running DHCP to reach our production/main network.

It is the only machine that can connect to our main network. That's the problem. The desktop communication doesn't flow through the DDC. The DDC acts as a matchmaker between client and desktop. When you login, SF talks to the DDC and enumerates the available resources for your account.

When you launch one, SF sends the launch request to the DDC and the DDC tells you (via SF) what desktop to talk to, at which point your device reaches directly to the desktop to establish a session. Your 192.168.x.x client is getting told to talk to a 10.10.0.x address, can't get there, and the attempt dies with 1030. To provide access to this environment there either has to be a way to talk between the two subnets or you need to implement a NetScaler Gateway that has NICs on both interfaces and use ICA Proxy to tunnel the traffic through it. Hey guys, So I'll be honest and say that I wasn't able to fix the issue even though I now have a solution. NetScaler is a beast and it's going to take some lab time to figure out how to use and configure it.

Citrix Receiver Protocol Driver Error

I was able to make it work within my lab and got it configured by watching a couple of videos and some light reading. The bosses here really want me to learn NetScaler anyway so I built the lab for that purpose. Thank you guys for your help and I hope it doesn't take me too long to figure NetScaler out.

Citrix Protocol Driver Error

1030 is the most generic error which basically means that something between the endpoint and the VDA is preventing the connection. Just because a VM is powering on does not mean you are connecting to your session. It only means that the DDC instructed a VM to power up because it brokered you one. So, the next person that comes along will need a VM. This is definitely network related and if this is a lab network, 1494 and 2598 might be firewalled off or you may have routing problems. Also, are you delivering DNS or IPs in the ICA file?
