4 years, 11 months ago. RDDI-DAP error by keil uVision and CMSIS DAP Hi all, after a sudden shutdown pc with windows 7 64 bit I can not load any program, after compiling, using keil uvision. When I try to load a program I get a window with an error message that says 'RDDI DAP-error', when I close this window I appears another that says 'Error flash download failed - Target DLL as Been canceled'. At this point I tried to restart the PC and the problem persisted, I tried to uninstall all the drivers of the mbed and I reinstalled the new drivers just downloaded from mbed.org and still did not work, then I tried to uninstall and reinstall uvision but I could not solve the problem. I tried it on another pc and I can't load the program always quietly with uvision. For you to what is causing this problem?

If you are in the Options for Target window while in Edit mode and not Debug mode: (Alt-F7 or Project/Options for Target): Click on the Debug tab: (CMSIS-DAP should be selected) - then select the Settings: box on the right side. In the Port: box, make sure SW is selected and not JTAG. It is a good idea to select the SWJ box too. Click OK twice to return to the main menu. This should fix the RDDI error problem. I went on to solve a different problem which was that I was not getting the mbed to show up as a COM port and realized that I did not have the windows serial driver installed: After installing it and also performing one extra cycle of driver uninstall for the USB mass storage device under which the mbed appears in the the windows device manager the CMSIS-DAP interface started working properly in uVision.

Just an update for Windows 8.1 X64 systems: In Windows 8.1 x64 the latest mbedWinSerial16466.exe installer doesn't properly work. When you launch the Setup process and press the 'Install' button, it automatically says that it was successfully installed, when it's not. A workaround that worked to me was to uncompress the mbedWinSerial16466.exe file with WinRAR and then MANUALLY INSTALL the mbedSerialx64.inf and mbedCompositex64.inf files (just the x64 variants!!, not the 32 bits of such drivers which are also included!!), after right-click on them and then choose 'Install'. Then when the MBED device is unplugged and plugged again, three new hardware devices are detected and installed, appearing as 'MBED CMSIS-DAP', 'MBED microcontrolleur USB Device' under the 'Devices' section of the 'Control Panel / Devices and Printers', and a new 'mbed Serial Port (COMxx)' under the 'Not specified' section of such panel. Previously to this correct mbedWinSerial driver installation, only the 'MBED CMSIS-DAP' device appeared to me in that panel, indicating that it was not correctly installed.
