Hold Tight Blizzard Of 96 Rare

Yea she isn't as satisfying to use as the commando guy with his twin turrets o' doom. I assumed when the robot gets a copy of your shield hilarity would ensue if The Bee shield was equipped. It's the only reason I'm still playing tbh. I'm getting no luck with legendary weapon drops with not a single orange in over 50 hours of play time. Borderlands was and addictive, compelling loot 'em up. Borderlands 2 not so much. In many ways Borderlands 2 is the better game but loot plays a big part in Borderlands and imo Gearbox have screwed that up this time.
The loot thing hasn't really bothered me that much. It'd be nice to have more variety in weapons, sure, but I come (and stay) for the humour and the explosions and zooming around in vehicles with my friends. The loot isn't as good, but it's not a major sticking point for me.

Don't know why Gearbox seem to be against people farming raid bosses or whatever, though. It seems weird to me that they should dictate how people should be playing their game. If they want to do that, then go the whole hog and start tinkering with everything as, say, Blizzard does with Diablo 3. Richardiox wrote: Amazed to see people complaining that rare loot is actually rare. I like how few oranges there are, makes it all the more satisfying when they drop (I've got two, LvL 38 Soldier).
Also don't forget there's more chance of orangey goodness in co-op. Actually, people are reporting that the chances of stuff dropping are exactly the same in co-op. During PT1 & 2 I too thought the drop rates were fine. After about 200 Warrior kills (yes, seriously) and about 15 Terramorphous kills I've changed my mind. I get that they've copied the MMO template, but in those MMOs the chance of 'your loot' dropping is generally around 10-33%. Not 2% like it is in this game. And the fact that Terramorphous -which is supposed to require a team of people- has the same drop rates is mindboggling.

Are you really supposed to kill him 400 times before everyone in the group has something nice? Furthermore, oranges should also have a decent chance of dropping off anything.

That would encourage you to have fun running around the levels killing random stuff instead of just doing 'kill. Reload' on a boss.
